Romance at the New Haven Lawn Club

This past weekend we designed a romantic wedding at the New Haven Lawn Club.  Every detail of this wedding was as pretty as can be! The Club was transformed into a romantic Spring fairytale!

Here are pictures of my favorite details of the day…

The bride carried soft Pinks, Peaches, and Apricot flowers with white accents with a family cameo pinned onto the stems:

The walkway leading to the New Haven Lawn Club was lined with shepherd’s hooks with hanging Baby’s Breath pomander balls, does it get any cuter than this?!

The ceremony was held in the ballroom  and featured a Baby’s Breath covered Chuppah with a vintage lace canopy, the result was pure romance!

Pale Pink Spring flowers were tucked into the Baby’s Breath covered Chuppah legs.

Ceremony chairs were decorated with pale pink and peach pomander balls strung on with long pale peach ribbons:

The cocktail hour featured mint julep cups with puffs of baby’s breath:

Cut glass cakestands, collected by the mother of the bride, were scattered throughout the club and decorated with loose blooms:

The Bride and Groom’s Initials were made from Baby’s Breath and hung on their sweetheart table chairbacks:

A gorgeous cake display by Sweet Maria’s featured different flavored cakes each prettier than the last!

Lots more to come from this gorgeous wedding, these were just a few of my favorite details!

Peach and Gold Spring Centerpiece

This past weekend I taught a floral design class at the Guilford Art Center and wanted to showcase some of my favorite seasonal blooms in one of my favorite color schemes. Gorgeous Apricot Parrot Tulips, Juliet Garden Roses, Cream Sweet Peas, Craspedia, Golden Ranunculus and Geranium Leaf with Meyer Lemon accents were included in the antique copper pedestal bowl.

Tuscan Bridal Shower

Last weekend I hosted a bridal shower for my sister-in-law. Sunflowers, Olive Branches, Tuscan food, Bellinis and Mimosas were on the menu for the afternoon party at my house. Jessica of Tulaloo designed the gorgeous Tuscan themed invitations and papergoods.

Each guest was asked to bring a favorite family recipe to add to the bride’s recipe box, she will now be stocked with good recipes for at least a full year!!

Delicious homemade Italian Pizzelles (made by my mother-in-law)

And who can resist a diamond ring sugar cookie?! (made by my mom)

Or one of my Sunflower chocolate cupcake?!!

With the Bride and Groom both being avid readers (he’s an English professor)  I decided for the favors to fill little bags with homemade biscotti and packaged them with a couple tea sachets. They were tied with a custom made bookmark (by Tulaloo) with the the Bride and Groom’s names and wedding date.

Nothing more fun than putting together an event for your own family!
